Therapeutic Style and Specialties:
I employ a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy by building on existing personal strengths, skills and abilities in order to assist a person in reaching their full potential while fulfilling their needs and goals. I focus on the “hear and now” approach, emphasizing the positive while moving away from negative thoughts and behaviors to ensure that the individual (or family) builds on their own personal strengths, thus finding their own solutions. I believe that most importantly is to help the client first identify their goals, and then assist them in making each one a reality. I believe this is accomplished through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy, behavioral motivation and goals counseling, along with interpersonal communication skills.
