Therapeutic Style and Specialties:
My approach in therapy is compassionate, sensitive, incisive, positive and
educational. I draw from a wide background, incorporating diverse approaches as
appropriate. i find that different issues and temperaments often call for
different approaches. Early in our work, we will identify the goals and
intention of the therapy. I work to bring each client's issues and self concept
to conscious awareness, so he or she can make mindful choices and shifts in
perspective that change dysfunctional behaviors and patterns in his or her life
and relationships. The work itself includes therapeutic techniques that are
emotionally focused, as well as cognitive and behaviorally oriented. I
capitalize on clients' strengths and positive self concept while working to
alleviate psychological and relational distress. Everything depends o what we
believe about ourselves. If we want to change our lives, we have to change our
self concepts and what we believe about what is possible. i see my role as that
of holding and mirroring a client's light and hope, reflecting the possibilities
until they can see and hold it for themselves.
