Joining SWABH and Renewing Your Membership:
Southwest Washington Association of Behavioral Health (SWABH) is an organization of behavioral health professionals committed to professional development and community education.
Benefits of Being a SWABH Member:
- Inclusion in our website directory, which serves as a referral
database to the community and other professionals.
- Monthly meetings which provide the opportunity to learn about topics of interest and network with other area professionals.
- Receiving the SWABH monthly newsletter which provides an opportunity to learn about what's new and to share information.
- Discounted rates on annual professional trainings.
Eligibility for SWABH Membership:
All members must maintain their principal practice in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor or Pacific counties.
There are three types of SWABH membership:
- Provider Members - Provider members are currently certified or licensed in the State of Washington in their respective
disciplines. Retaining certification or licensure is required to maintain membership.
- Provisional Members - must be currently working toward certification or licensure in the State of Washington in their
respective disciplines, and must be receiving supervision from a certified supervisor.
- Institutional Members - Institutions may apply for membership subsequent to at least one employee of the institution being granted membership as a Provider Member. Institutions must currently be certified or licensed in the State of Washington to provide a behavioral healthcare service, and retain certification or licensure to maintain membership If you are a student pursuing a degree in a behavioral health profession or you have retired from the field, you can receive the SWABH monthly newsletter at no cost by emailing our newsletter editor.
Joining or Renewing Your SWABH Membership:
The annual cost for membership is $60.00. SWABH membership year runs from May to April. New members joining between May 1st and October 31st pay $60.00. New members joining between November 1st and April 30st pay a prorated $30.00. Membership renewal notices are e-mailed in April each year.
To join or renew, complete and submit the following:
- Completed Membership Application/RenewalForm (all members)
- Website information form (new members AND members making changes to their pages)
- Website directory release form (new members)
- A copy of your current license (Provider and Institutional Members only)
- A copy of your diploma (Provisional Members only)
- A signed statement that you are working toward licensure from your supervisor (Provisional Members only)
- A copy of your professional liability insurance policy with the name of the carrier, insurance effective date, and expiration date (all members)
- A check for membership dues made payable to SWABH (all members)

Online Directory Updates:
The online directory is updated two times a year in the months of November and May. To be included in the directory, all membership materials must be submitted by October 15th for the November additions and by May 1st for the May additions. Please do not use SWABH directory for purposes other than SWABH events. If you wish to notify other members about professional events or you have questions for other members, please send requests to: swabh.board@gmail.com.
