My
manner of working with clients is friendly, calm, and open. I converse
back and forth with clients, often telling them thoughts about what I
notice. I often mention "near-universals", that is, how other people
have reacted in situations similar to those that the client is
experiencing. Clients frequently give me the feedback that they feel
comfortable, reassured, safe, and understood when we meet and that they
can talk with me easily. I have several special interests in my
practice: 1) Family systems work, focusing on helping clients resolve
issues by addressing relationship patterns. 2) Career therapy, using
interviews, career assessment instruments, and counseling to relieve
distress related to career transitions and workplace issues. 3)
Internal Family Systems and mindfulness practices to help clients
release internal constraints and access more of their internal wisdom
and peace of mind and heart. I work with adults, adolescents, elders,
couples, families and groups.
