Therapeutic Style and Specialties:

I believe that:

• We each have within us the capacity to heal if given the tools
• We are most likely to change when we are provided an environment where we are respected and where it is safe to explore new ways of being
• We are doing the best we can with what we have

To that end, I use styles of therapy designed to help you think about, experience and act effectively in the midst of your life stresses. I sometimes work with a therapy dog to further the therapeutic process. I base my sessions on finding a solution that meets your needs, emphasizing healing for body, mind, and soul.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and change is sometimes painful. I ask you to come to sessions with an idea of what you want to work on. I will listen to your concerns, clarify your issues, encourage independence, and offer professional insight to help you identify and develop a healing plan that is most useful for you.

I work with adults and elders, specializing in life transitions (for example, illness, separation/divorce, job change, aging, caring for aging parents) and grief/loss.
