Julia BagleyI offer my clients an open heart and belief that each one of us has strengths, wisdom, love, joy, confidence and a sense of purpose at our core. Sometimes we lose touch with these aspects of ourselves and need to identify what prevents us from connecting with our core. I am drawn to work that focuses on mind-body connection, family systems, and a multiplistic approach to understanding the individual. I focus on identifying what is getting in the way of each person’s intrinsic resources and their ability to tap into their strength, confidence and unique gifts that they have to give to themselves, and those around them. I am continually inspired and moved by each persons natural inclination to heal, and it is an honor for me to be able to play a part in this process.

I work with adolescents and adults, individuals, couples, and families, dealing with a range of issues including stress, anxiety depression, grief, family issues relationship issues, trauma resolution, life transitions, self esteem and anger issues.

Heather CampbellLife transitions, grief and loss, life closure, parent/child issues, family of origin, child loss, PTSD, depression and anxiety, and integration of body mind and spirit are all areas of focus. Since 1999 I have worked primarily with individuals and families coping with serious illnesses and death. I help clients understand, plan for, and process the dramatic shifts that occur as we age. Western culture traditionally has not adequately supported individuals in transition; and as a result people are often not only traumatized by a loss, an illness, or a death, but are doubly traumatized by the reactions and behaviors of friends, family, and even society-at-large.

My therapeutic approach is strength-based, client-centered and supportive using cognitive behavioral, solutions focused brief therapy,  and transpersonal therapy. I believe that the role of the counselor is to create opportunities for clients to speak their own soul stories, so that they are empowered to facilitate their own healing process and to find and embrace the deeper meanings of their lives.

I am a member of the American Academy of Bereavement and the Association for Death Education and Counseling.

Deborah CarnettI use an eclectic approach to support clients in the therapy process: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and mindfulness based approaches are among the strategies. I have specialized training in working with trauma victims and employ Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy to address issues related to sexual abuse, domestic violence and other trauma. My goal at all times is to respect and honor my clients as the experts on their lives, creating a nurturing environment where they can safely explore their thoughts and feelings, while working to change patterns that get in the way of the joy and peace they seek in their lives.

Although I frequently see clients for issues related to depression, grief and loss and relationship difficulties, I have chosen to specialize in two general areas, the first of which is Anxiety Disorders . This includes Post Traumatic Stress, OCD, panic disorder and generalized anxiety.

My secondary specialty is working with individuals who have Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. This includes children, youth and adults. We address areas such as anxiety, anger, social skills, and work or school related challenges.  My practice frequently involves working with individuals who additionally may also have ADHD or a Learning Disability. I draw on 16 years of experience as a former Special Education Teacher and Educational Consultant to enhance my work as a Mental Health Counselor.

Kathy CoxI believe that one of the most important tasks each of us has is to bring our unique gifts into the world. Sometimes, painful life experiences get in the way. But there is hope.

I offer ways to lessen or remove emotional, psychological, or spiritual barriers, so clients can live their lives to the fullest. I do this by listening with an open, loving heart to each person's story, attentive to their deepest yearnings and truths. Together we explore any beliefs they may have about themselves or the world that might be limiting their full participation in life.

I enjoy working with folks of all ages individually, as well as with couples and families. Typical problems we address include childhood abuse, neglect, or other traumatic experiences; loss (such as through divorce, illness, or death); depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder; challenges with raising children; and deep questions about spirituality.

I bring years of experience with healing methods including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, expressive and play therapies, as well as communication training and parent education.

Most importantly, I bring compassion, humor, a warm and welcoming presence, and a deep respect for the people and families with whom I work.

Loretta KisselI am an Artistic Systems Therapist with over 30 years of research and study regarding the human condition. My education and research has been extensive especially in regards to trauma, violence, relationships, co-dependency, grief, family dynamics, change and transformation, spirituality and matters of the heart and soul. During this time I have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in a collaborating environment of creativity and possibility. My theoretical approach is broad and multi-dimensional with a holistic and systemic base.

I believe that the client-therapist relationship is the sacred core of therapy. Therefore, establishing rapport is the most important element for creating a therapeutic foundation. Special care is given to creating an atmosphere of trust and compassion that is as judgment free as possible.

I have a strong belief that the client is the expert in their own lives. Each client holds the power for change and transformation within themselves and has the inner resources to solve their own problems. I believe my task is to assist a client in reconnecting with their organic creativity, motivation, passion and desires. This is best accomplished by generating hope, no matter how minute. It's important that as a therapist I nurture this hope with support and encouragement in order to foster growth and healing.

Every issue and problem brought to therapy has roots in the mind, body and soul. The goal is to bring unity through integration of these roots into a systemic whole. By doing this an individual, couple, group and/or family can live a fulfilling life. Fulfillment is defined as having mental peace and freedom, physical acceptance, trust and confidence and passion and purpose that is generated from deep within. Throughout therapy these three components of mind-body-soul will be taken apart and joined together as needed in order to have a holistic experience of flexibility and flow between them. It is the flow that creates the systemic whole.

I work with adolescents and adults, individuals, couples, and families, dealing with a range of issues including stress, anxiety depression, grief, family issues relationship issues, trauma resolution, life transitions, self esteem and anger issues.

Insurances Accepted:

No insurance accepted at this time. I offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions to be negotiated on a case by case basis.

Explanation regarding licensure:
Prior to receiving licensure in the field of Clinical Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy, professionals are required to work under the supervision of an approved supervisor for a period of 2 – 3 years, depending on the individual’s degree. Having received the training and education necessary to work with clients therapeutically, unlicensed counselors are monitored to ensure ethical decisions are being made in regards to intervention methods. These counselors also have the opportunity to speak with their supervisor about clinical challenges they are experiencing. As you are seeking support, feel free to request further information from a counselor who you are aware is under supervision and/or working toward licensure. Once licensed, a therapist must abide by State Law regarding ethical behavior and ongoing training. Oversight is provided by the Department of Licensing.

Monica OlivasDo you feel that life is a daily struggle? Are you continually overwhelmed, draining you of life’s joy?

I work with individuals, couples, and families that are dealing with a range of issues that are creating emotional discord in their life. Issues may range from parenting and relationship issues to trauma, sexual abuse, grief, life transitions, and depression and anxiety.;

Each client has it in themselves to make positive changes in their life, but may need assistance in that journey. I believe in the client’s innate ability to heal them self.

Therapeutic work addresses a holistic approach of mind, body, and spirit, as I believe one impacts the others. Treatment modalities are integrated with the client’s values and beliefs as well as with the goals the client is working towards. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Family of Origin, Jungian, and other treatment modalities that would best meet the needs of the client.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, confidential environment where clients are able to find strength and courage to be honest with themselves, as they make positive changes in their life. Together we explore current beliefs, thought patterns, and behaviors that are impeding the client from reaching their goal, thus keeping them from living a more fulfilling life.

The foundation of my counseling is a gentle, client centered, non-judgmental approach allowing for the exploration of present moment experience and the discovery of limiting ideas and beliefs brought forward from the past. With acknowledgement and witnessing these extreme beliefs and emotions begin to soften and change. Enough space emerges for what was once an automatic reaction to become a response made with an awareness of choices. Overwhelming emotions, such as sadness, anger and fear, become manageable. Options and choices become apparent allowing for focus, clarity and effectiveness in all areas of life; physical, emotional mental and spiritual. I employ a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy by building on existing personal strengths, skills and abilities in order to assist a person in reaching their full potential while fulfilling their needs and goals. I focus on the “hear and now” approach, emphasizing the positive while moving away from negative thoughts and behaviors to ensure that the individual (or family) builds on their own personal strengths, thus finding their own solutions. I believe that most importantly is to help the client first identify their goals, and then assist them in making each one a reality. I believe this is accomplished through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy, behavioral motivation and goals counseling, along with interpersonal communication skills.

My primary theoretical orientation is based on a cognitive behavioral model, although I also incorporate solution focused, reality therapy, and existential approaches in my work with individuals. When presented with an opportunity to treat families, I work from a systems model. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Client problems commonly addressed include anxiety, depression, low self esteem, grief and loss, spiritual and life transitions. I have special interest in helping adolescents.

My belief is that people seek counseling upon realizing that they want to improve their quality of life. While I recognize that environment (e.g. people, situations, and events) influences who we are, I strongly believe that our thoughts ultimately shape our emotions and behaviors. I also believe that we can change the way we think to feel/act more effectively, even when our environment does not change.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in Olympia, WA.  I bring years of life experience to my practice, which began in 1995.  My work with people includes trauma recovery, parent/child issues, grief and loss, depression and anxiety.  I enjoy working with children and adults, individuals and family.  I have a holistic approach to therapy working with the whole person utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches, which includes; EMDR, psychodynamic, play and sand tray therapy with children and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

In my work with individuals and families I regard all people as being whole, taking into account a person’s strengths and potentials as well as problems.  I work to enable people to make choices beneficial to their real needs, evoking a sense of purpose and intention in life.

I have received extensive training in IFS Therapy.  IFS therapy is a holistic method used to work with individuals and families.  IFS therapy has a belief that every person has a core self that contains the needed qualities for healing.   When working with a client utilizing IFS Therapy the goal is to differentiate the Self from their parts/emotions, allowing Self to help and heal parts that have had to take on extreme roles and emotions.
