Therapeutic Style and Specialties:
I
believe that one of the most important tasks each of us has is to bring
our unique gifts into the world. Sometimes, painful life experiences
get in the way. But there is hope.
I offer ways to lessen or remove emotional, psychological, or spiritual barriers, so clients can live their lives to the fullest. I do this by listening with an open, loving heart to each person's story, attentive to their deepest yearnings and truths. Together we explore any beliefs they may have about themselves or the world that might be limiting their full participation in life.
I enjoy working with folks of all ages individually, as well as with couples and families. Typical problems we address include childhood abuse, neglect, or other traumatic experiences; loss (such as through divorce, illness, or death); depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder; challenges with raising children; and deep questions about spirituality.
I bring years of experience with healing methods including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, expressive and play therapies, as well as communication training and parent education.
Most importantly, I bring compassion, humor, a warm and welcoming presence, and a deep respect for the people and families with whom I work.
